About Us

Raising Dust is a diverse group of young people from different sectors in the Western and Wimmera districts of Victoria who have begun an initiative to create and expand networks between young rural people.

We have named our group “Raising Dust”, as we hope to break new ground in connecting young rural people, create new networking paths and encapsulate the hard working, “gritty” ethos of rural life. The majority of the committee members do not originate from the region and believe this type of group will help them develop a sense of community and build strong friendships within the region.

Our membership base is currently sitting at around 200 and we are always looking to have more people jump on board and come along to our events!

Raising Dust aims to create and expand networks between young rural people in the Western and Wimmera districts.

To develop friendships and a sense of community amongst young people, who have chosen to live and work in our region. Finally, to provide forums (i.e. charity ball, workshops and seminars) that are both social and informative.

This all sounds very serious but believe us when we say we have a cracking good time in doing all of the above!
